In April 2007, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) approved certain domain registries to increase their prices. Domain registries are the private companies which manage the registration, technical operations, and control the allocation policies of the TLD's for which they are responsible.
Domain registries VeriSign, Afilias, Neulevel and Public Interest Registry applied for and received price increases and have announced they will be raising their wholesale prices to all ICANN-accredited registrars.
In light of that decision, we will be adjust our pricing structure as follows:
Q: Why should you register a domain name?
A: They are scarce. Internet domain names are a rapidly
diminishing commodity. They are allotted on a first-come
first-serve basis. There can only be one "yourcompany.com" on
the Internet, so make sure you register your organization
quickly before it is too late. The longer you wait, the less
likely you will be able to get your specialized name.
They are important. The Internet domain name has become a
vital part of corporate identity. In the 21st Century, your
domain name will be as important as your trademark and your
presence in a global marketplace. They are versatile. Any
E-Mail addressed to you at jsmith@yourcompany.com can be
forwarded to your current E-Mail address.
Q: Can I purchase multiple domain names and point
them to my main site?
A: Yes you can, we offer this service for FREE.
Important!
If you are remotely considering using the Internet and World
Wide Web for your business or personal use, we highly recommend
that you register your domain name as soon as possible (there
is a current load of 17,000 registrations per day). Once
registered, you will own the domain name and no one else
in the world will be able to get it.
Q: Is the money you charge in addition
to the $70 InterNIC charges?
A: No. You only pay for your domain ownership and nothing
else.
Q: Why shouldn't I host my website with a company that
offers Free domain registration?
A: Some hosting companies offer FREE domain registration
while you host your website with their company. Then, if you
decide to move your website to another host, you cannot take
your domain name with you because the hosting company is the
real owner of the domain name. We do not offer free domain
registration because we want our customers to always have the
option to go to another hosting company and to take their domain
name with them. Doing it any other way is, in our opinion,
not ethical.
Q: I changed my mind about the domain name that I registered.
Is it too late to change it?
A: Once you register a domain name, you cannot "un-register" it.
If you find that the domain name you chose no longer suits
your business or personal needs, you should register another
domain name. The domain name you originally registered will
continue to be registered to you until the end of the registration
period. Registration and re-registration fees are non-refundable.
